Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 ("HSNO Act"), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that The
New Zealand Refining Company Limited (NZRC) intends to apply for the approval of the Department of Labour Code of Practice for Pressure Equipment (Excluding Boilers) as
a code of practice under the HSNO Act.
Under clauses 73(3)(a)(iv), (b)(iv) and (d)(iv) of Schedule
8 to the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004
(as amended) the Authority may approve a code of practice equivalent to standards approved for pipework.
NZRC has applied for the Department of Labour code to be approved under these clauses.
