Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Transit New Zealand
Act 1989 and clause 2.6 of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (Rule 54001), Transit New Zealand hereby amends the following bylaw.
A m e n d m e n t s
1. These amendments shall come into force 28 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
2. The Transit New Zealand (Maximum Speeds of Vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 2005/7* is hereby amended by:
(a) Replacing line 605 in Schedule 3 to read:
“Transit NZ Region: 12
SH No.: 6
Locality: Punakaiki
From (RP): 374/10.67 To (RP): 374/12.01
Distance from nearest Road/Feature:
From 240m north of the northern abutment of
the Porarari River Bridge to 1100m south of the northern abutment of the Porarari River Bridge.
Speed Restriction (km/h): 70
New Zealand Gazette Reference: 19/04/2007, No 43, p 1162”
(b) Replacing line 606 in Schedule 3 to read:
“Transit NZ Region: 12
SH No.: 6
Locality: Punakaiki
From (RP): 374/12.01 To (RP): 374/13.12
Distance from nearest Road/Feature:
From 1100m south of the northen abutment of
the Porarari River Bridge to 180m north of the northern abutment of the Punakaiki River Bridge.
Speed Restriction (km/h): 60

(c) Delete line 607 in Schedule 3 that reads:
“Transit NZ Region: 12

Locality: Punakaiki
From (RP): 374/16.62 To (RP): 388/0.72
Distance from nearest Road/Feature:
From 660m north of the Punakaiki River Bridge to 720m south of the Punakaiki River Bridge.
Speed Restriction (km/h): 80”
These bylaw amendments as made by resolution passed at
a meeting of Transit New Zealand held in Wellington on the 7th day of February 2007.
