In accordance with section 161(2) of the Land Transport
Act 1998, Land Transport New Zealand, on behalf of
the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make a Rule concerning the safety performance of transport operators, and advises that draft Land Transport Rule: Operator Safety Rating (Rule 81002) is available for public comment.
This draft Rule specifies the key elements of the proposed Operator Rating System, which will provide the means for rating the safety performance of transport operators.

The draft rule is also available for viewing at Land Transport NZ’s regional offices.
A copy has been made available to groups and individuals who have registered an interest in the Rule.
