Notice of Intention to Assign or Alter Place Names

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the
New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign new place names or alter existing place names stated in the first column of the Schedule below to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Objection to the proposed new or altered place names may be given in writing, setting out the grounds for objection, to the Secretary of the New Zealand Geographic Board, care of Land Information New Zealand, Private Box 5501, Wellington 6145, within a period of three months from the date of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice.

North Auckland Land District
Flat Bush Proposed new locality/town in Manukau City, generally bounded west by East Tamaki and Otara, north by East Tamaki Heights, east by low lying catchment hills, and south by Totara Heights – see www.manukau.govt.nz/default.aspx?id=2818. Topographic map 260-R11 Auckland, GR 808 688. Re-establishing and repositioning Flat Bush over this area, to which it has been historically applied.

Oneone Hill Hill at height 351m, located in Mount Messenger Forest, topographic map 260-R18 Ohura, GR 516 517. Spelling alteration from Oenone.
Nelson Land District
Mount Crusader Mountain at height 1428m, located between Mount McMahon and Hoary Head in the Arthur Range, with an unbeaconed trig station “A6MC, F Crusader” at its summit, topographic map 260-N27 Moutere, GR 926 068. Long term local usage, but not named on current map.

Paterson Hill Hill at height 1113m, located in the foothills above where the Waimakariri River enters the Canterbury Plains, topographic map 260-L34 Puketeraki, GR 226 741. Spelling alteration from Patterson Hill (replacing previous New Zealand Gazette, 13 January 1966, No. 1, page 18).

Westland Land District
Heemskerck Glacier Alpine glacier flowing northerly from the main divide into Albert Glacier, located north of Mount Tasman, topographic map 260-H36 Mount Cook, GR 810 355. Spelling alteration from Heemskirk Glacier.
Otago Land District
Pahatea/Durden Hill Hill at height 444m, located 3km north-west of Waikouaiti, with a beaconed trigstation “A26E, D Derdan Hill” at its summit, topographic map 260-I43 Waikouaiti, GR 255 119. Spelling alteration from Derdan Hill.
Southland Land District
