Notice of Intention to Take Land for Road—

Lake Road, Takapuna
Notice is hereby given that the North Shore City Council (“the council”), under the provisions of section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, proposes to take the land described in the Schedule hereto (“the land”).
The land is required for road purposes.
It is intended to use the land for the widening of Lake Road.
The intended taking is considered reasonably necessary for the safe, effective, and convenient use of Lake Road and Esmonde Road.
It will provide for the increased and altered traffic flows that will result from the reconfigured Esmonde Road/Akoranga Drive interchange and will provide better access facilities for cyclists and pedestrians.
The use of the land is in accordance with Designation 166 of the council’s district plan.
The owners of the land and those persons with a registered interest in it have been served with notice of the council’s intention to take the land and advised of their right to object.
Any other person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Ministry of Justice, P.O. Box 5027, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.
If any objection is made in accordance with this notice,
a public hearing will be held.
The objector will have a right to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires.
Each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
