Under section 24B (4) (b) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares that the marginal strip requirements set out in section 24 of the Conservation Act 1987 shall not apply to the disposition to Contact Energy Limited of the land required in connection with electricity works for the Wairakei Geothermal Energy Field, specified in the Schedule.
The disposition takes the form of geothermal energy field rights included in an interrelated network of lease, option to lease, easement and encumbrance rights, and this declaration shall apply to that land during the term of the relevant parts of those geothermal energy field rights.
