Amendment to the Anglers Notice for Fish and Game Regions

Pursuant to section 26R (3) of the Conservation Act 1987, the “Anglers Notice for Fish and Game Regions” published in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 30 August 2005, No. 146, pages 3545 to 3595, is amended as follows:
Southland Fish & Game Region:
(1) On page 3591, fourteenth line of the table, Borland Burn downstream of O’Brien’s Bridge, in the second column delete the words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 30 Apr”. On this same line, delete the references “NA” in the subsequent columns and replace these with “FS” in the third column and “2” in the fourth column.
(2) On page 3591, thirty-first line, after the words “Lake Manapouri” in the first column delete “except the Waiau Arm between the Manapouri Lake Control (MLC) structure (also known as the Mararoa Weir) and the Real Journeys boat ramp.”.
(3) On page 3592, thirteenth line, Mararoa River and tributaries, delete the reference “MLC and the swing bridgeat the outlet of the South Mavora Lake” and insert the words “Manapouri Lake Control (MLC) structure (also known as the Mararoa Weir) and the Key Bridge.” In the second column delete the words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 30 Apr”. On this same line, delete the references “NA” in the subsequent columns and replace these with “FSB” in the third column and “4” in the fourth column.
(4) On page 3592, after the above amendment (3), insert a new entry “Mararoa & tributaries upstream of the Key Bridge.” In the first column, “10 Feb – 30 Apr” in the second column, “FS” in the third column and “2” in the fourth column.
(5) On page 3592, thirty-second line, Monowai River downstream of power station, in the second column delete the words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 30 Apr”. On this same line, delete the references “NA” in the subsequent columns and replace these with “FS” in the third column and “2” in the fourth column.
(6) On page 3593, sixth line, in the first column for Waiau River – From MLC to the sea, delete the reference “FromMLC to the sea” and insert “From MLC to Tuatapere”. In the second column delete the words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 31 May”. On this same line, delete the references “NA” in the subsequent columnsand replace these with “FSB” in the third column and “4” in the fourth column.
(7) On page 3593, after the above amendment (6), insert a new entry “Waiau River – Tuatapere to the sea” in the first column, “All Year” in the second column, “FSB” in the third column and “4” in the fourth column.
(8) On page 3593, eleventh line, for the Waiau River tributaries MLC to sea within 100m, in the second column deletethe words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 30 Apr”. On this same line, delete the references “NA”in the subsequent columns and replace these with “FSB” in the third column and “2” in the fourth column.
(9) On page 3593, thirty-first line, for the Wairaki between Blackmount highway bridge, in the second column deletethe words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 30 Apr”. On this same line, delete the references “NA”in the subsequent columns and replace these with “FSB” in the third column and “2” in the fourth column.
(10) On page 3593, thirty-fifth line, Whitestone River between the Prospect Bridge and the Hillside Road Bridge, in the third column delete the B from “FSB”.
(11) On page 3593, thirty-seventh line, Whitestone River downstream of the Hillside Road Bridge, in the second column delete the words “closed season” and replace with “10 Feb – 30 Apr”. On this same line, delete the references “NA” in the subsequent columns and replace these with “FS” in the third column and “2” in the fourth column.
(12) On page 3593, delete the third to sixth paragraphs under 3.1 that begins with the words “The areas below are closed to fishing…” and ends with “...Rivers which have greater lengths” on the top of page 3594.
