Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette,
22 December 2005, No. 210, page 5366, regarding the direction to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Bay of Islands College Board of Trustees.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:
? All functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum leadership and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise);
? all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage communications and relationships within the school and between the school and its community (whether statutory or otherwise);
? all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage the establishment and operation of satellite classes established by the board at Kawakawa School and at Moerewa School (whether statutory or otherwise);
? all functions, powers and duties of the board for financial management of the satellite classes established by the board at Kawakawa School and at Moerewa School (whether statutory or otherwise); and
? all functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer in relation to the satellite classes established by the board at Kawakawa School and at Moerewa School (whether statutory or otherwise).
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following matters:
? The role of the principal as the leader of learning in the school; and
? strategic planning for sustainable school improvement.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.
