Notice of Variation of a Scheduled International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87J (6) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and sections 28, 29, 41 and 42 of the State Sector Act
1988, and a delegation from the Minister of Transport dated 12 October 2004, and a sub-delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 12 October 2004, and further to a notice in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 June 2006, No. 73, page 1871, I give notice that having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport has varied the scheduled international air service licence held by that airline to provide for:
· in respect of Hong Kong, the right to operate a daily service beyond to London;
· in respect of Japan, the right to operate B777 aircraft;
· in respect of the United Kingdom, the removal of restrictions on the right to carry traffic between the United Kingdom and third countries where the service starts or ends in New Zealand; and
· in respect of Vanuatu, the right to operate one service per week to points in Vanuatu, together with code-share capacity as filed with and acknowledged by the Secretary for Transport.
The variation took effect from 1 August 2006.
