Under section 159N (4) and section 159Y (3) of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Tertiary Education and the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement-(1) This notice may be cited as the Education (Exemptions from Charter and Profile requirements for PTEs that currently do not receive TEC funding but have qualifications approved for access to the Student Loans and Allowances schemes and will have qualifications approved for access to Student Component funding from 1 January 2007) Notice 2006.
(2) This notice applies from the date of its publication.
2. Introduction-All organisations that seek or receive funding from the TEC must have an approved Charter and Profile unless exempt from the requirement to have a Charter and Profile.
Exemptions From Charter and Profile Requirements
for 2007
The Minister exempts the following type of tertiary education organisation (TEO) from the requirement to have a Charter in 2007 and the TEC similarly exempts these same TEOs from 2007-09 Profile requirements:
Those Private Training Establishments (PTEs) that currently do not receive TEC funding but have qualifications approved for access to the Student Loans and Allowances schemes and will have qualifications approved for access to Student Component funding from 1 January 2007.
