Pursuant to clause 1 (3) of Schedule 3 of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“the Act”), the Commerce Commission (“the Commission”) gives public notice that it has decided, under clause 1 of Part 1 and clause 8 of Part 2 of Schedule 3 to the Act, to commence an investigation into:
? amending the terms of the national roaming service;
? moving the national roaming service from a specified to a designated service; and
? moving the co-location service from a specified to a designated service.
Under clause 1 (1) of Schedule 3 to the Act, the Commission may on its own initiative commence an investigation into whether or not Schedule 1 of the Act should be altered.
The Commission, under clause 8 (1) of Schedule 3 of the Act, may on its own initiative commence an investigation into whether or not a service may be altered by moving it from Part 3 to Part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Act.
The Commission is satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for commencing an investigation into amending the roaming and co-location services, and these reasons are published on the Commission’s web site at:
