Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that it intends to issue the Flammable Liquids Tank Wagon Code of Practice.
This code specifies the requirements for the design and construction of tank wagons used to transport flammable liquids.
This code has been developed by a working party representing tank wagon manufacturers and oil wholesalers.
It sets out a means of compliance with the requirements
of Regulations 6-18, 20-24, 26-29, 32-37 and 42 of the Hazardous Substances (Tank Wagons and Transportable Containers) Regulations 2004 in respect of tank wagons transporting hazardous substances with class 3.1 hazard classification.
