I, John Norman Keith Mansell, General Manager Maritime Operations, Maritime New Zealand, pursuant to sections 47 (2) (b) (iii) and 47 (3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, and acting under delegated authority from the Director of Maritime New Zealand, hereby give notice as follows:
? The Trustees of the Ellen Trust are exempt from the Safe Ship Management requirements applicable to owners under Part 21 of the Maritime Rules as required by Maritime Rule Part 21, Section 2, in respect of the motor yacht Belize.
? The Trustees of the Ellen Trust are also exempt from the crewing and watchkeeping requirements of an owner of an offshore, coastal and restricted (non-fishing vessel) as required by Maritime Rule Part 31B, in respect of the motor yacht Belize.
? It is a condition of this exemption that the Belize is used in a manner consistent with the definition of “pleasure craft” in section 2 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 in all respects other than that described in paragraph (c) of that definition.
This notice comes into effect on 29 September 2006.
