Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette,
3 March 2005, No. 45, page 1114, of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the altered name stated in the first column of the Schedule below to the respective place described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Objections were received to this proposed name and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.
Pursuant to section 15 of the said Act, I hereby notify that it is my decision that the name of this place shall be as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below and that this decision shall take effect on 4 September 2005.

North Auckland Land District
Mount Parihaka Hill at height 241m, just east of Whangarei. A beaconed trig station and lookout are located at the summit, Topographic Map 260-Q07, Pt R07 Whangarei, GR 316 089. Spelling correction from Mount Parahaki.
