Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservator for the Northland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a local purpose (esplanade) reserve, subject to the provisions of the Act, and further vests the reserve described in the Schedule in the Whangarei District Council, in trust for local purpose (esplanade) reserve purposes.
