Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Waikato Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a local purpose (esplanade) reserve and appoints the Hamilton City Council to control and manage the reserve for that purpose, subject to the council refunding any rates paid by the Crown as owner.
