Under section 29 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister
of Conservation appoints the Motu Kaikoura Trust Board
to control and manage the reserve described in the
Schedule as a classified scenic reserve for purposes specified in section 19 (1) (a) of that Act and subject to
the following special conditions:
(a) The reserve is to be available for outdoor/
environmental education for youth in particular and for provision of facilities to achieve this;
(b) the trust shall submit to the Minister for his approval a management plan for the reserve within two years after the date of its appointment; and
(c) the appointment of the trust as the administering body of the reserve is to be reviewed after seven years.
