In accordance with section 31 (1) of the Fair Trading Act 1986, I give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title—This notice may be cited as the Unsafe Goods (No Holes Tongue Stud) Notice 2005.
2. Comment—I declare that the “No Holes Tongue Stud”’ and similar products as described in the Schedule are
unsafe goods.
Schedule
Description of “No Holes Tongue Stud”:
(a) A small plastic bead with an opening on one side only, which acts to create a vacuum; and
(b) is intended for use as jewellery on the human tongue, without the need for piercing.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the notice but is intended to indicate its general effect.
Under 31 (2) of the Fair Trading Act 1986, this notice comes into effect the day following notification in the New Zealand Gazette, unless it is sooner revoked. The notice remains in force for a period of 18 months after the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
It is an offence under the Fair Trading Act 1986 to supply, or offer to supply, or advertise to supply, goods which are declared to be unsafe goods.
Section 33 of that Act prohibits the importation of such goods into New Zealand.
