Amendments to Crown Health Financing

Agency Functions
Pursuant to section 58 (1) (b) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, the Crown Health Financing Agency (CHFA) was given the following additional functions, on the terms set out in the CHFA Composite Terms of Reference:
1. Property Advisory Services – the CHFA may offer strategic advice to client entities in relation to the management, occupation and use of property, and may offer assistance with the property disposal processes.
2. Financial Advisory Services – the CHFA may
offer financial advisory services to assist client entities
in the achievement of their business goals and objectives. This may include financial and analytical support for client entities initiatives, efficiency
projects, and the development and implementation of collaborative initiatives.
Pursuant to section 58 (1) (b) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, the CHFA was authorised to carry out its functions (including the above) for:
1. the New Zealand Blood Service;
2. any other health sector Crown entities for which
the Minister of Health is the Responsible Minister, as long as the CHFA has received written approval from the Minister of Health to provide its services to that particular health sector Crown entity
in addition to carrying out its functions for District Health Boards.
The above notice was given to the CHFA on 10 August 2005.
