Approval of Interim Guidelines Under the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004

Pursuant to section 83 (2) of the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004, the Minister of Health approves the following guidelines as interim guidelines for the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology:
? National Ethics Committee on Assisted Human Reproduction Guidelines on the Use, Storage and Disposal of Sperm from a Deceased Man;
? National Ethics Committee on Assisted Human Reproduction Guidelines on Embryo Donation for Reproductive Purposes;
? National Ethics Committee on Assisted Human Reproduction Guidelines on IVF Surrogacy;
? National Ethics Committee on Assisted Human Reproduction Guidelines on Within-family Gamete Donation;
? National Ethics Committee on Assisted Human Reproduction Guidelines on Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis in New Zealand; and
? Guidelines on Gamete and Non-viable Embryo Research (sections 15.4, 15.4.1, 15.4.2, 15.5, 15.6, 15.8, 15.10, 15.11, 15.12, 16.3, 16.4, 16.5 and 16.5.1 of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council’s Ethical guidelines on the use of assisted reproductive technology in clinical practice and research, 2004).
Under section 83 (1) of the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004, this approval will expire on
21 November 2007, unless sooner revoked.
