Designation and Classification of Airspace

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rules Part 71.9 (d), made under the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the following amendments were designated with effect from:
1 July 2005
? The following controlled airspace is amended (new code in brackets if required) – NZA 752 (Queenstown CTR/D,
NZA 753), NZA 741 (Queenstown CTA/D, NZA 731), NZA 746 (Queenstown CTA/D, NZA 732).
7 July 2005
? The Howtap Hamilton control zone sector is amended to the Scott Sector.
? A new military operating area is established – NZM 305 (Karioi Forest).
? New danger areas are established – NZD 224 (Aka Aka), NZD 420 (Lake Tutira), NZD 422 (Reporua), NZD 520
(Ngaumu Forest), NZD 721 (Paparoa Forest), NZD 727 (Kawhaka).
? A new low flying zone is established – NZL 769 (Cecil Peak).
? The following designated airspace is disestablished – NZL 768 (Jardines low flying zone).
4 August 2005
? The Dart visual reporting point is disestablished.
? The following new visual reporting points are established – Big Lagoon, Dip Flat, Lake Sylvan, One Tree Point, Portland, Puketona Quarry, Rainbow Skifield, Thornbury.
? The following visual reporting points have position amendments – Catseye Bay, Horseshoe Bay.
? A new danger area is established – NZD 324 (Waipapa).

? The following controlled airspace is amended – NZA 940 (Queenstown CTA/D).
? The following visual reporting point is amended – Walter Peak.

? The following Pago Pago CTR/D is disestablished and the Pago Pago CTA/D has an amended lower limit.

? The following danger area is amended (new code in brackets) – NZD 228 (Karaka, NZD 225).
? A new danger area is established – NZD 325 (North Taranaki Bight).
? The Motunui restricted area (NZR 302) is disestablished.
? The following low flying zones are disestablished – NZL 362 (Pouiatoa), NZL 761 (Hokitika River), NZL 762
(Virgin Flat), NZL 860 (Upper Waimakariri).
? The following low flying zone is amended (new code in brackets) – NZL 367 (South Foxton, NZL 366).
? The Auckland City mandatory broadcast zone (NZB 178) is amended and a code change to NZB 169.
? A new mandatory broadcast zone is established – NZB 269 (Mercer).
? The following general aviation area is disestablished – NZG 956 (Ida).
? The following general aviation areas are amended – NZG 957 (Omarama), NZG 958 (Two Thumbs).
? The following general aviation areas are established – NZG 954 (Ranfurly), NZG 955 (Waitaki), NZG 959 (Rangitata River).
? The following visual reporting points are established: Red Hill, River Mouth.
