Notice is hereby given that the Tasman District Council, pursuant to section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, intends to take the land described in the First Schedule to this notice for road and Second Schedule to this notice for accessway purposes.
(a) The areas of land extend from the western end of Lord Auckland Road, Wakefield, in a south-easterly direction to land vested in the Tasman District Council as local purpose reserve, previously held
as part of the Glenhope - Nelson Railway (Railway Reserve), Wakefield and adjoins properties numbered 41, 43, 45 and 47 Lord Auckland Road and number 87A Whitby Road (State Highway No. 6), Wakefield.
(b) The land is to be used for road and accessway purposes and vested in the Tasman District Council.
(c) The taking is considered reasonably necessary to provide for Tasman District Council ownership of the land in order to hold the land for a purpose appropriate to its use as road and public accessway and to protect existing council sewer pipes being part of council infrastructural assets.
Objections to the taking of the land may be made in writing to the Registrar, Environment Court, Ministry of Justice, P.O. Box 5027, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
