Pursuant to sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand ("the council"), in a decision dated 23 October 2003, ordered that a registered comprehensive nurse be censured.
The council also ordered that the nurse pay $9,400.00 (being 30%) of the actual costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation by the preliminary proceedings committee and inquiry by the council, and that a notice stating the effect of the orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, the council's newsletter and released to accredited members of the media, upon request, with all identifying features of the case suppressed.
