University of Canterbury Council: Amendment

to Constitution
Pursuant to section 170 of the Education Act 1989, the Associate Minister of Education (Tertiary Education) gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. This notice may be cited as the University of Canterbury Council Amendment Notice 2004.
2. Following a recommendation from the council of the University of Canterbury, the constitution of the council of the University of Canterbury is amended as follows:
3. Clauses 3 (i) and 3 (j) of the constitution, as contained in the University of Canterbury Notice 1990 and published
in the New Zealand Gazette, are repealed and will be replaced by the following clauses:
"3. (i) One member appointed by the University of Canterbury Council, following consultation with Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu;
3. (j) Two members co-opted by the University of Canterbury Council;
3. (k) Four graduates, not currently employed as permanent members of the University staff, elected by the Court of Convocation of the University of Canterbury."
4. This notice shall come into force on 1 January 2005;
5. This notice amends the University of Canterbury
Notice 1990, published in the New Zealand Gazette,
13 September 1990, No. 159, page 3353.
