Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Otara Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
? Financial management of the kura.
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following matters:
? Financial planning and decision making;
? development and review of financial policies and procedures;
? meeting the legal obligations of the board particularly as identified by the 2004 Education Review Office report; and
? ensuring that financial decisions contribute to quality curriculum delivery.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.
