I, Graeme Gillespie, acting under delegated authority, make the following directions under the Burial and Cremation Act 1964 ("the Act"):
1. Under section 41 (1) of the Act, the cemetery known as the Otaria (Otaraia) Cemetery, Waikaka, being the land described in the Schedule to this notice ("the cemetery"), shall be closed, subject to the conditions set out in paragraph two below, and burials there shall be discontinued from and including 28 February 2005.
2. This closing order shall be subject to the following qualification:
Under the proviso to section 43 (1) of the Act, the control and management of the closed cemetery shall be vested in the Gore District Council.
Schedule
1366 square metres, more or less, being Section 15A, Block X, Waikaka Survey District.
