1. This is a notice of a public ruling made under section 91D of the Tax Administration Act 1994.
2. Public ruling BR Pub 04/06 entitled "Trading stock-Tax treatment of sales and agreements to sell" was issued on 27 May 2004. The ruling's subject matter was originally contained in BR Pub 98/8, which applied from 1 February 1999 to the end of the 2002 income year. BR Pub 04/06 applies from 1 April 2003 to 31 March 2008. It will appear in Inland Revenue's Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 16, No. 5 of June 2004.
