Amendment 2004
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment establishes and approves the following amendment to the New Employment Transition Grant Programme (as established and approved on 9 December 1998).

A m e n d m e n t
1. Title-(1) This amendment is the New Employment Transition Grant Amendment 2004.
(2) In this amendment, the New Employment Transition Grant Programme is called "the programme".
2. Commencement-This amendment comes into effect on 1 April 2004.
3. Increasing rates of grants-(1) Clause 5.1.1 of the programme is amended by omitting the expression "$51.50" and substituting the expression "$52.50".
(2) Clause 5.2 of the programme is amended by omitting the expression "$515" and substituting the expression "$525".

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This amendment increases the daily rate and the maximum amount of a Transition Grant payable in the 6-month period of eligibility to take account of a CPI increase of 1.55%.
The increases come into effect on 1 April 2004.
