Pursuant to section 79 (5) of the Hazardous Substances
and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO), the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) advises that it
has approved a Code of Practice for Management of Agrichemicals, being NZS 8409:2004.
This standard has been approved as a code to provide
a means of compliance with the regulatory requirements of the following HSNO Hazardous Substances Regulations:
? Hazardous Substances (Classes 6, 8 and 9 Controls) Regulations;
? Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations;
? Hazardous Substances (Disposal) Regulations; and
? Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations.
