Pursuant to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, the Minister of Energy gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Under section 37 (4) of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, I give notice that the following amendment to the following standard, which is listed in Schedule 1 of the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002, is part of the Regulations:
Amendment No. 1 (2004) to NZHB 4783.2:2001 Performance of electrical lighting equipment - Ballasts for fluorescent lamps - Energy labelling and minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) requirements.
2. This amendment takes effect as part of the Regulations on 1 February 2004.

Explanatory Note
The Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002 incorporate by reference certain standards. The standard incorporated by reference that relates to the performance of electrical lighting equipment - ballasts for fluorescent lamps has been amended. This notice specifies the date upon which the amendment to the standard takes effect as part of the Regulations.
