In accordance with section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the Associate Minister of Transport hereby
gives notice of his intention to make ordinary rules in the following Civil Aviation Rule Parts:
Parts 139-Aerodromes - Certification, Operation and Use, 121, 125 and 135 - Air Operations Large, Medium and Small Aeroplanes, and 129 Foreign
Air Transport Operator - Certification - new rules to implement the ICAO Annex 14 requirements for runway end safety areas (RESA) or give a similar level of safety where there are regular air transport services operating internationally, or there are proposals to develop runways.
Part 1-Definitions and Abbreviations - add new definitions and abbreviations related to RESA.
Submissions on the proposed rules should be forwarded to the Docket Clerk by 16 August 2004.
