Pursuant to section 60 of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, the Transit New Zealand Board gives notice that, with effect from 12.00 midnight on 30 June 2004, the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule hereto are to be revoked and the sections of road described in the Second Schedule hereto are to be declared State Highway within the meaning and for the purpose of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.
First Schedule
1. At Te Kuiti, the section of State Highway No. 3, commencing on Rora Street from the northern Rail Crossing at Carroll Street and proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to the intersection with State Highway No. 30 at Waiteti Road (Route Position 65/10.43 to Route Position 65/11.57); a distance of 1.14 kilometres.
2. In the Whakatane District, the section of State Highway No. 38, commencing on the Murupara to Waikaremoana Road, from the west abutment of the Rangitaiki River Bridge at Murupara and proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to the intersection of Minginui Road at Te Whaiti (Route Position 36/0.06 to Route Position 57/0.00); a distance of 20.40 kilometres.
3. At Napier, the section of State Highway No. 50, commencing on the section of existing State Highway No. 50 on Hardinge Road from its eastern intersection with the Ahuriri Bypass and proceeding in a generally westerly direction to its intersection with Bridge Street, then on Bridge Street in a generally southerly direction to its western intersection with the Ahuriri Bypass (Route Position 0/1.57 to Route Position 0/2.55); a distance of 1.04 kilometres.
4. In the Hurunui District, the section of State Highway No. 70, commencing from the existing section of State highway from the junction at State Highway No. 7 at Red Post Corner and proceeding in a generally
north-easterly direction to the intersection of Leslie Street and Lyndon Street in Waiau (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/19.34); a distance of 19.34 kilometres.
Second Schedule
1. In the Far North District, the section of State Highway No. 1N, commencing on the Far North Road from a point 850 metres south of the Cape Reinga Lighthouse and proceeding in a generally southerly direction to a point 360 metres north of Te Hapua Road at Waitiki Landing (Reference Station 0 to Reference Station 20); a distance of 20 kilometres.
2. In the Far North District, the section of State Highway No. 11, commencing on Seaview Road, Marsden Road, and the Paihia to Puketona Road from the current terminus of the highway 420 metres north of the northern abutment of the Te Haumi River Bridge in Paihia, and proceeding in a generally westerly direction to its intersection with State Highway No. 10 at Puketona (Route Position 0/14.05 to Route Position RP14/15.60); a distance of 15.6 kilometres.
3. At Whangarei, the section of State Highway No. 15A, commencing on the access road to the Port at Marsden Point, on One Tree Point Road from its intersection with State Highway No. 1, then proceeding in a generally northerly direction to the intersection of McCathie Road, then on to the newly constructed road proceeding in a generally north easterly direction to its intersection with Marsden Point Road, then on Marsden Point Road in a generally northerly direction to the intersection with Ralph Trimmer Drive (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/8.52); a distance of 8.52 kilometres.
4. In Manukau City, the section of State Highway 20B, commencing on Puhinui Road from the intersection of State Highway No. 20, and proceeding in a generally south-westerly direction to the western boundary of Orrs Road (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/2.38); a distance of 2.38 kilometres.
5. At Te Kuiti, the section of State Highway No. 3, commencing on Carroll Street from the intersection
of Te Kumi Street and proceeding in a generally
south-easterly direction to the intersection of State Highway No. 30 (Awakino Road) (Route Position 65/10.43 to Route Position 65/11.49); a distance of 1.06 kilometres.
6. At Tauranga, the section of State Highway 2A, commencing on Takitimu Drive, Marsh Street and Mirielees Road from the intersection with State Highway No. 2 (Route J) and proceeding in a generally northerly direction to the northern end of Mirielees Road at Sulphur Point (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/4.59); a distance of 4.59 kilometres.
7. At Napier, the section of State Highway No. 50, commencing on the Ahuriri Bypass from its intersection with Hardinge Road in a generally westerly direction to its intersection with Bridge Street (Route Position 0/1.57 to Route Position 0/2.55); a distance of 0.98 kilometres.
8. In New Plymouth, the section of State Highway No. 44, commencing on Eliot Street from its intersection with Courtenay Street proceeding in a generally northerly direction to Molesworth Street, then on Molesworth Street and proceeding in a generally westerly direction to the intersection of St Aubyn Street, then on St Aubyn Street and Breakwater Road and proceeding in a generally westerly direction to a point 265 metres west of the intersection of Ngamotu Road (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/5.21); a distance of 5.21 kilometres.
9. In the Marlborough District, the section of State Highway No. 62, commencing on Rapaura Road, from its intersection with State Highway No. 6 at Fox's Island, and proceeding in a generally easterly direction to its intersection with State Highway No. 1 at Spring Creek (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/12.75); a distance of 12.75 kilometres.
