Notice is given, in accordance with section 23 (1) (b) of the Public Works Act 1981, that the Waitakere City Council ("the council") proposes to take part of the land situated
at 1 Ratanui Street, Henderson, and more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, for a public work as follows:
? The land has been utilised for public car parking purposes for more than 20 years after being acquired by the Henderson Borough Council, a predecessor authority, for that purpose from the former owner. A subdivision to formally vest the land in council at that time was inadvertently not completed and the council, having identified that circumstance, wishes to continue to apply the land for that purpose. The land is contiguous to a precinct within the Henderson Town Centre bounded
by Trading Place and Ratanui Street, intended to be redeveloped by the council in the near future, including the provision of a new public library. The council wishes to secure appropriate public car parking opportunities in the vicinity of the Town Centre and this development, and ensure this area to be acquired continues to be maintained for public car parking purposes.
? The owner and any persons having a registered interest in the land have been served with notice of council's intention to take the land and right to object.
Any other person wishing to object to the proposed taking
of the said land may forward a written objection to
the Registrar, Environment Court, Department of Courts,
P.O. Box 7147, Wellesley Street, Auckland, within
20 working days of the date of publication of this notice.
If you make an objection in accordance with this notice,
a public hearing will be held and you will be advised of the time and place of the hearing and will have the right to appear and be heard.
