State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986
This notice concerns land at Wrathall Road, Mangonui, and Maori claims under the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975.
The land at Wrathall Road, Mangonui, is described in legal terms as all that parcel of land containing 1.0560 hectares, more or less, being Section 7, Survey Office Plan 64503, as contained in certificate of title NA88C/146 (North Auckland Registry).
The land was once owned by the Crown.
It was vested in a State enterprise under section 23 of the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986.
There is a special notice or "memorial" on the certificate
of title for the land which provides that, if the Waitangi Tribunal so recommends, the land shall be resumed by
the Crown and returned to Maori ownership (see sections 27A and 27B of the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986 or sections 212 and 213 of the Education Act 1989 or section 39 of the New Zealand Railways Corporation Restructuring Act 1990).
The current owner of the land, GARY JOHN INVESTMENTS LIMITED, has applied to the Waitangi Tribunal to have this memorial removed.
The application has been made under section 8D of the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975.
ANY MAORI PERSON WHO CONSIDERS THAT
THEY, OR ANY GROUP TO WHICH THEY BELONG, HAS A CLAIM TO MAKE TO THE WAITANGI TRIBUNAL ABOUT THIS LAND SHOULD SUBMIT THEIR CLAIM TO THE WAITANGI TRIBUNAL BEFORE 10 JANUARY 2004.
Section 6 of the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975 sets out the grounds for making a claim.
Claims may be posted to the Registrar, Waitangi
Tribunal, P.O. Box 5022 or D.X. S.P. 22-525, Wellington, or delivered to the Registrar, Waitangi Tribunal, Third Floor, 110 Featherston Street, Wellington.

Wai 295, Kohumaru Station claim.
Wai 320, Kohumaru Station claim.
Wai 912, Ngati Kahu ki Whangaroa land claim.
Wai 736, Pikaahu Hapu lands, forests and resources claim.
Wai 45, Muriwhenua land claim.
If no claim about this land is made to the Waitangi Tribunal before 10 January 2004, the tribunal may recommend that the land be no longer subject to resumption by the Crown and returned to Maori.
