Under the Conservation Act 1987 and a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Conservator for the West Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation declares the land described in the Schedule is held for conservation purposes, and further, declares that the land is to be held as a wilderness area to be known as the Adams Wilderness Area.

39,557.0000 hectares, more or less, being Area "A" on S.O. 318208.
Canterbury Land District-Ashburton District
7,030.0000 hectares, more or less, being Area "B" on S.O. 318208.
