Obstetric Nurse
After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3), 43 (3), 48A and 48F of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand ("the council"), in a decision dated 2 April 2003, ordered that the registered general and obstetric nurse be censured.
The council also ordered that the nurse pay $2,640.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation and inquiry by the director of proceedings and inquiry by the council, and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, the council's newsletter and made available to accredited members of the media upon request, with the names of all parties and identifying features of the case suppressed.
