Board of Trustees (329)
Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Mangakino Area School Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school and the educational performance of the secondary students.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
? Ensuring implementation of the Education Review Office June 2003 review report recommendations in line with an agreed action plan;
? development of an ongoing programme of school-wide self review including effective analysis and improvement systems; and
? personnel management; including appraisal of the principal in line with an established performance agreement
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:
? Contributing to a viability review of the Year 9-13 section of the school; and
? consolidating all new and improved systems into board management practice.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
