Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Patea High School Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school and the educational performance of the students at the school.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
? The development and management of effective relationships between the school and its community;
? review of the school's strategic plan and ensuring implementation of any changes through the annual plan and the principal's performance objectives; and
? considering options for the future of schooling in Patea as a part of the strategic planning process.
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:
? Consolidation of all new or changed systems into board management practice.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
