Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for Ahuroa School (1200) because of risks to the operation of the school.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
? Undertake a curriculum review that looks at curriculum coverage, planning, assessment and self review. A specific focus on literacy and numeracy will be included in the curriculum review;
? manage the property portfolio;
? review the performance management system and ensure all staff have performance agreements and performance appraisals against appropriate standards;
? develop and implement a programme of community consultation; and
? address all statutory requirements listed in section 6 of the Education Review Office report.
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:
? Mentor and support the board of trustees in its governance role.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
