Under clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grant Programme (as established and approved on 18 December 1998 under section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964), I give my approval for Part 6 of the programme to continue to apply as follows.
Rural Assistance-Farmers
1. Farmers in the affected areas whose land based industry is directly affected by the drought conditions over
the 2002 to 2003 summer period are eligible to be considered for financial assistance under Part 6 of the programme.
2. In relation to such farmers, Part 6 applies for the period beginning on 19 May 2003 and ending on 31 August 2003, unless further extended by the Minister.
3. For the purposes of this approval, affected areas means the following regions and districts:
Taranaki Region.
Wanganui District.
Rangitikei District.
Manawatu District.
Horowhenua District.
Tararua District.
Kapiti Coast District.
The district of Upper Hutt City.
Masterton District.
Carterton District.
South Wairarapa District.
