Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Ohangai School (2211) because of risks to the operation of the school.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
? Personnel issues, including the appointment of a relieving principal, the resolution of outstanding personnel issues and any subsequent industrial issues.
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following matters:
? Appointment of a permanent principal;
? the filling of casual vacancies as a result of four resignations;
? support and coaching for the new chairperson;
? community consultation and communication; and
? support and training for the newly elected board members.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
