Notice of Order for Suspension From Practise as a Barrister and Solicitor

In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982
Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act
1982, notice is hereby given that on 31 May 2002, the
New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:
1. That the name of Peter Amarat Rama be suspended from practise as a barrister or as a solicitor, or as
both for a period of two-and-a-half years commencing 14 days from 31 May 2002.
2. That Peter Amarat Rama is censured.
3. That Peter Amarat Rama pay the costs of the Wellington District Law Society in the sum of $14,906.25 (being counsel's fee) together with a service fee and disbursements of $80.00, making
a total of $14,986.25.
4. In respect of the costs of the tribunal, Peter Amarat Rama pay the sum of $3233.36, being two-tenths
of the Schedule submitted by the secretary of the tribunal and subsequently fixed by the tribunal in its Reserved Reasons for Finding and Orders of 5 August 2002.
