Pursuant to section 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement-(1) This notice is the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Amendment Notice 2003.
(2) This notice comes into force on 31 March 2003.
2. Application-This notice applies on and after 1 April 2003.
3. Interpretation-In this notice, "the principal notice" means the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986 (S.R. 1986/267).
4. Total allowable commercial catch for southern blue whiting-The First Schedule to the principal notice is amended by omitting items C and D of the items relating to southern blue whiting and inserting the following items:
C Bounty Platform SBW6B 3 500
D Campbell Rise SBW6I 25 000

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice decreases the total allowable commercial catch for southern blue whiting in the quota management area SBW6B (Bounty Platform) from 8,000 tonnes to 3,500 tonnes, and decreases the total allowable commercial catch for southern blue whiting in the quota management area SBW6I (Campbell Rise) from 30,000 tonnes to 25,000 tonnes on and from 1 April 2003.
