Seasonal Work Assistance Amendment 2003

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following amendment to the Seasonal Work Assistance Programme (as established and approved on 7 July 2002).

A m e n d m e n t
1. Title-(1) This amendment is the Seasonal Work Assistance Amendment 2003.
(2) In this amendment, the Seasonal Work Assistance Programme is called "the programme".
2. Commencement-This amendment comes into effect on 1 April 2003.
3. Amount and limits of payments-Clause 7 (3) of the programme is amended by omitting the expression "$600", and substituting the expression "$620".
Schedule 1 substituted-The programme is amended by revoking Schedule 1 and substituting the Schedule 1 set out in the Schedule.

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to explain its general effect.
This amendment increases the maximum weekly amounts and maximum amount of seasonal work assistance payments under the Seasonal Work Assistance Programme to take account of a CPI increase of 2.72%, with effect on 1 April 2003.
