Training Incentive Allowance Amendment

(No 2) 2003
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following amendment to the Training Incentive Allowance Programme (as established and approved on 30 November 1998).

A m e n d m e n t
1. Title-(1) This amendment is the Training Incentive Allowance Amendment (No 2) 2003.
(2) In this amendment, the Training Incentive Allowance Programme is called "the programme".
2. Commencement-This amendment comes into effect on 1 April 2003.
3. Increasing weekly rate and yearly limit of allowance-(1) Clause 6.1.1 of the programme is amended by omitting the expressions "$79.81" and "$3,192.40" and substituting, respectively, the expressions "$81.98" and "$3,279.20";
(2) Clause 6.4.2. of the programme is amended by omitting the expression "$3000" and substituting the expression "$3,279.20".

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to explain its general effect.
In this amendment to the Training Incentive Allowance Programme, clause 3 (1) increases the weekly rate and the maximum annual amount of the Training Incentive Allowance to take account of a CPI increase of 2.72%, with effect on 1 April 2003. Due to error, clause 6.4.2 was not amended by previous CPI increases, and has therefore been increased by the 2002 CPI increase of 1.82%, the 2001 CPI increase of 3.98%, the 2000 CPI increase of 0.51%, and the 2003 CPI increase.
