Pursuant to section 60 of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, the Board of Transit New Zealand gives notice that, with effect from 12.00 midnight on 31 December 2003, the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule hereto are to be revoked and the sections of road described in the Second Schedule hereto are to be declared to be State highway within the meaning and for the purpose of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.
First Schedule
1. In Whangarei, the section of State Highway No. 1 on Great North and Kamo Roads commencing approximately 183 metres south of the southern abutment of the Springs Flat Bridge and proceeding generally in a southerly direction to the intersection with State Highway No. 1 approximately 560 metres north of the intersection with Whau Valley Road (Route Position 144/12.82 to Route Position 158/2.47); a distance of 3.29 kilometres.
2. In Whangarei, the section of State Highway No. 15, including the section of the access road to the Port of Whangarei on Rewarewa Road, Kioreroa Road and Port Road from the intersection of State Highway No. 1 and extending generally in an easterly direction to the eastern end of Rewarewa Road at Kioreroa Road, then on the full length of Kioreroa Road from Rewarewa Road to Port Road, then on Port Road from Kioreroa Road to a point 225 metres south-east of the intersection of Fraser Street (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/4.35); a distance of 4.35 kilometres.
3. In Tauranga, the section of State Highway No. 2 commencing at a point 1.06 kilometres east of the intersection with Bethlehem Road and the recently constructed Route J Expressway in a generally easterly direction along Waihi Road and Eleventh Avenue to the intersection with Cameron Road, then in a generally south-westerly direction to its intersection with Fifteenth Avenue and Route J Expressway (Route Position 146/2.78 to Route Position 146/5.94); a distance of 3.86 kilometres.
4. At Stoke in Nelson City, the section of State Highway No. 6 commencing at the intersection with Whakatu Drive and proceeding in a generally southerly direction on Annesbrook Drive and Main Road Stoke, then in a generally westerly direction on Champion Road to the intersection with the realigned section of Richmond Deviation (Route Position 116/5.56 to Route Position 116/10.95); a distance of 5.37 kilometres.
5. At Collingwood, the section of State Highway No. 60 commencing at the intersection with Bainham Road (Wellington Terrace) and proceeding in a generally easterly, then northerly direction to its termination at William Street (Route Position 103/15.83 to Route Position 103/16.87); a distance of 1.10 kilometres.
6. At Hanmer, the section of State Highway No. 7A from its current terminus at Cheltenham Street to a point 210 metres to the south of Bath Road (Route Position 0/9.38 to Route Position 0/8.60); a distance of 0.78 kilometres.
7. In Christchurch City, the section State Highway No. 74 commencing at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth Drive and Northcote Road and proceeding in a generally southerly direction on Main North Road, Cranford Street, Sherbourne Street, Bealey Avenue, Barbadoes Street, Madras Street, Moorhouse Avenue and Waltham Road to the intersection of Brougham Street (Route Position 0/3.90 to Route Position 12/0.14); a distance of 8.38 kilometres.
8. At Dunedin, all those sections of State Highway No. 1 commencing at the southern motorway interchange at Abbotsford and extending in a generally westerly direction on Westland Street, Main South Road and Saddle Hill Road through Sunnyvale and Fairfield to the southern motorway interchange with Saddle Hill Road (former Route Position 715/0.00 to Route Position 715/4.26); a distance of 4.33 kilometres.
Second Schedule
1. In Whangarei, State Highway No. 1 to include the recently constructed section of road known as Kamo Bypass commencing approximately 183 metres south of the southern abutment of the Springs Flat Bridge and proceeding generally in a southerly direction to the intersection with State Highway No. 1 approximately 560 metres north of the intersection with Whau Valley Road (Route Position 144/12.82 to Route Position 157/3.08); a distance of 3.30 kilometres.
2. In South Waikato District, State Highway No. 30 to include Ongaroto Road from the intersection with State Highway No. 32, 80 metres east of the Whakamaru Dam and proceeding in a generally easterly direction to the intersection with State Highway No. 1 at Atiamuri (Route Position 84/1.32 to Route Position 84/21.15); a distance of 19.83 kilometres.
3. In Napier City, State Highway No. 50, to include the section of Breakwater Drive from its intersection with Hornsey Road and proceeding in a generally easterly then southerly direction to the eastern gates of the Port of Napier at a point 175 metres north of the Coote Road intersection (new Route Position 0/0.00 to new Route Position 0/1.06); a distance of 1.06 kilometres.
4. In Nelson City, State Highway No. 6 to include the section of Whakatu Drive commencing at the intersection with Annesbrook Drive and proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the southern intersection with State Highway No. 6 at a point 250 metres south of Link Road (Route Position 121/0.00 to Route Position 127/0.25); a distance of 5.83 kilometres.
5. In Christchurch City, State Highway No. 73 to include the section of Curletts Road from Blenheim Road in a generally northerly direction to the intersection of Riccarton Road, then northward on Peer Street to the intersection of Yaldhurst Road, then on Yaldhurst Road in a generally north-westerly direction to the intersection with Masham and Russley Roads (Route Position 11/1.28 to Route Position 11/5.23); a distance of 3.95 kilometres.
6. In Christchurch City, State Highway No. 74 to include Queen Elizabeth II Drive from the intersection with Main North Road (State Highway No. 74) proceeding in a generally easterly direction to the intersection with Burwood Road, then on Travis Road to the intersection of Frosts Road and Anzac Drive, then on Anzac Drive proceeding in a southerly direction to the intersection with New Brighton Road, then on Bexley Road proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to the intersection of Breezes and Dyers Roads, then on Dyers Road proceeding in a generally south-westerly direction to the intersection with Ferry Road (Route Position 0/3.90 to Route Position 0/18.29); a distance of 14.39 kilometres.
7. In Christchurch City, State Highway No. 74A on Palinurus Road from the intersection of Dyers Road in a generally south-westerly direction to the intersection of Garlands Road, then on Garlands Road in a generally westerly direction to the intersection of Opawa Road (State Highway No. 73) (Route Position 0/0.00 to Route Position 0/2.13); a distance of 2.13 kilometres.
8. In Dunedin City, State Highway No. 86 to include that section of road commencing at the intersection of Stack Street and State Highway No. 1 at Allanton, extending in a generally westerly direction along Stack Street and Centre Road to the intersection of Centre Road and Miller Road at Momona, then in a north-westerly direction along Miller Road to its intersection with Airport Road (new Route Position 0/0.00 to new Route Position 0/5.28); a distance of 5.28 kilometres.
9. In Southland District, State Highway No. 97 to include those sections of the Mossburn-Five Rivers Road and Essex Street, commencing at the intersection of
the Mossburn-Five Rivers Road with State Highway No. 6 at Five Rivers and extending in a generally
south-westerly direction to the intersection of Essex Street and State Highway No. 94 at Mossburn (new Route Position 0/0.00 to new Route Position 0/20.60); a distance of 20.60 kilometres.
