Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962
and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice, 2003.
2. The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
4. All of the Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice No. 1, 1991, dated 14 January 1991, is revoked.*
5. All of the Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice 1997, dated 31 January 1997, is revoked.**
First Schedule
Situated within the Central Otago District at Bannockburn:
Bannockburn Road: From a point 150 metres measured southerly, generally, along Bannockburn Road from Hall Road to a point 50 metres measured northerly, generally, along Bannockburn Road from Felton Road.
Domain Road.
Hall Road: From Bannockburn Road to a point 800 metres measured westerly, generally, along Hall Road from Bannockburn Road.
Hall Loop Road.
King Street.
Lawrence Street.
Short Street.
Terrace Street.
Situated within the Central Otago District at Clyde:
Blyth Street.
Drivers Rest.
Dunstan Street.
Fache Street.

Hazlett Street: From its north-western end to a point
40 metres measured westerly, generally, along Hazlett Street from State Highway No. 8 (Timaru-Milton via Alexandra).

Harvey Street: From State Highway No. 85 (Palmerston-Alexandra) to a point 320 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said street from the said State Highway.

Swindon Street: From the Ida Valley-Omakau Road to a point 730 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said street from the Ida Valley-Omakau Road.
Situated within the Central Otago District at St Bathans:
Loop Road: From a point 30 metres measured
south-easterly, generally, along the said road from
St Bathans Downs Road to a point 650 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said road from St Bathans Downs Road.
St Bathans Downs Road: From Loop Road to a point
30 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said road from Loop Road.
Second Schedule
Situated within the Central Otago District at Alexandra:
Letts Gully Road: From State Highway No. 85 (Palmerston-Alexandra) to Thyme Hill Road.
Situated within the Central Otago District at Omakau:
State Highway No. 85 (Palmerston-Alexandra): From a point measured 200 metres north-easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Harvey Street to a point 80 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Wilton Street.
