I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, pursuant to section 47 (2) (b) (iii) and section 47 (3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give notice as follows.
The pilots
David Yeowell
David Edge
Len Mounsey; and
John Henderson
are exempt from the requirement to hold a pilot licence under Rule 90.4 when performing pilot duties in the Fiordland pilotage areas.
The Fiordland pilotage areas defined in Part 90 are:
Bligh Sound Harbour
Breaksea and Dusky Sounds Harbours
Caswell Sound
Chalky Inlet Harbour
Charles Sound Harbour
Doubtful and Thompson Sounds Harbours
George Sound Harbour
Milford Sound Harbour
Nancy Sound Harbour
Poison Bay Harbour
Preservation Inlet Harbour
Sutherland Sound Harbour
This exemption expires on 2 October 2003 unless earlier revoked.
