Designating Land Transfer Offices and Specifying Rectification Period-Land Transfer (Computer Registers and Electronic Lodgement) Amendment Act 2002

Designated Land Transfer Offices
Section 41 of the Land Transfer (Computer Registers and Electronic Lodgement) Amendment Act 2002 amends the Land Transfer Act 1952 by inserting a new section 47.
Pursuant to that section, the Registrar-General of Land
may designate land transfer offices for the purposes of presentation of instruments.
The Registrar-General of Land designates the following offices of Land Information New Zealand as offices for
the purposes of sections 47 (1) (a) and 47 (1) (c) with effect from 1 June 2002:
North Auckland Land Registration District: Oracle Tower, 56 Wakefield Street (Private Bag 92-016 or D.X. C.P. 22-017), Auckland 1.
South Auckland and Taranaki Land Registration Districts: Corner of Victoria and Rostrevor Streets (Private Bag 3028 or D.X. G.X. 10-069), Hamilton.
Wellington, Gisborne and Hawke's Bay Land Registration Districts: Mayfair House, 44-52 The Terrace (P.O. Box 5014 or D.X. S.P. 23-512), Wellington.
Nelson, Marlborough, Westland and Canterbury Land Registration Districts: Torrens House, 195 Hereford Street (Private Bag 4721 or D.X. W.P. 20-033), Christchurch.
Otago and Southland Land Registration Districts: John Wickliffe House, Princes Street (Private Bag 1929 or D.X. Y.P. 80-001), Dunedin.
Rectification period
Section 43 (3) of the Land Transfer Act 1952 has been amended by Schedule 1 of the Land Transfer (Computer Registers and Electronic Lodgement) Amendment Act 2002.
The Registrar-General of Land is required to specify the period within which instruments may be rectified and
re-lodged for registration without the applicable fees being forfeited.
With effect from 1 June 2002, that period is specified to be two months from the date the instrument is returned by the Registrar.
