Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a scenic reserve for the purposes specified in section 19 (1) (a) of the Act.

120 hectares, more or less, being Section 4 (formerly Harwich Island), Block III, Mid Wanaka Survey District.
